Chiropractic Arlington VA Chris Viggiano Muscle Activation Technique Specialist

Chris started his fitness journey in the 1990's, studying Shaolin Kempo Karate.   While studying and teaching the martial arts, Chris gained an appreciation of movement.  During this time, he successfully completed his first personal trainer certification at Hofstra University.  After earning his black belt in 2000, Chris continued to teach the martial arts and added strength workouts to his and his school's training regimen.

Chris moved to Virginia in 2005, continued training, and furthered his education by working with The Pink Ribbon Program, a Pilates based post-rehabilitative breast cancer exercise program.  After spending time as a trainer and a master trainer for the Pink Ribbon Program, Chris became an Instructor Trainer, traveling the East coast teaching the Pilates based program to other instructors.

Chris returned to his roots as a trainer, going to every seminar, talk, or class, reading any article or publication that came across his desk.  From TRX, to foam rolling, to trigger point, Chris has studied these and other modalities.

In 2012, Chris came across the Resistance Training Specialist program, an evidence based, science backed training program that teaches the engineering and physics of force, load, the human body, and how it can all be purposefully and intelligently applied to achieve desired outcomes.  After completing that three month course, Chris then enrolled in the Muscle Activation Technique's Jumpstart program.  Another three month program, that introduced Chris to positional testing, and isometric training, allowing the body to gain strength and stability in a position it previously did not have.

In 2013, Chris enrolled in the Muscle Activation Techniques Internship program.  An intense 1 year course, the expanded on the positional tests, and more specific applications of force to help improve strength and stability within the body, thus allowing the body to handle increased load and improve from session to session.
